Organizing For Your Brain Type III

Okay Folks, this is the last in the series of organizing posts. Hope you found the brain-type idea interesting. Enjoy!~ Seanna

Best Methods of Organization for:

Maintaining: Use traditional organizing methods. Schedule, schedule, schedule. It reduces your stress level.

Word of Advice:
It's okay to be organized People may think that your boring, or type A, but don't worry, everybody needs you and you know it! Just remember to live life and don't be so perfectionistic that you become rigid.

Harmonizing: Use lots of color and fun containers. Don't use systems that are going to be too hard for you to keep up with. (i.e. Extremely detailed filing cabinets or anything you will have to spend to much time maintaining) Be sure to put up a picture or two in key places to keep you motivated and help you remember why organizing is important to you.
Word of Advice:
Keep it simple but clean! People really enjoy and feel a lot more comfortable in a neat house.

Innovating: Piles are okay!!! You can now go forward into life free and skipping happy!

Practical Application:
The main thing you need to remember, is to keep your piles organized. For instance: for bills that need to be paid: keep them in a stack on TOP of the table. For bills that have already been paid, you can have a box under the table to throw them in. Save the box for a year or two (however long it takes you to do your taxes) Once you've done your taxes, label the outside with a permanent marker, date it, tape it shut and stash it somewhere for however long you're accountant says you should keep it. When the date on the outside of the box passes, simply throw the box away.

Word of Advice:
Date. Date. Date. And then be sure to throw away your piles on time!

Prioritizing: Find a simplistic method that works for you. Preferably a derivative of the filing system, but one that you can break down to keep more streamlined and less detailed than the maintainer. The main thing you need to realize is the importance of organization to accomplishing your goals. Once you find a system that works for you, you shouldn't have any problems.

Word of Advice:
Make relationship goals. Don't get so caught up with trying to achieve that you run over people!
