Seanna,
following is a copy of an answer I sent to your Mom via email-so you can be up-to-date.
I have to get caught up on your blog entries/pictures.
What city are you guys in? What did you sing for your "Christmas Concert?"
Sonny's parents, in Albuquerque, are not doing too well physically. Janet went to Albq. to check on them and see what she could do to help the situation. Sonny was supposed to go to Albq. the next week on business and then they would change places and Janet would come back to Dallas. Well, while she was there we had a major cold spell. Sometime back when they did some remodeling to their house, the enclosed the porch and made it into a combined dining room and Sonny's ofc. Well, the insulation (and plumbing) was not done properly and the water pipes which were put in the ceiling froze and then ruptured and flooded several rooms. Thank God, Sonny was at home. He was able to save the computers (which is their lifeblood in their business), etc. There was quite a bit of structual damage, carpets, some furniture damage, etc. It would have been much worse had he not been there. So, her beautifully decorated for Christmas house, was (I really can't find the proper word) wound up in shambles. Workman every where, stuff stacked in the rooms that didn't get water-damaged, etc. We didn't know until the 24th whether or not we would be having our Christmas dinner/festivities at her house or Jenny's. What a mess. Which brings up another point. JoJo graduated from college (North Texas State University in Denton) on Dec. 17th. That's why Janet had the house all decorated because we were having a party in JoJo's honor after commencement. The house looked like a Winter Wonderland before she left for Albq. because she was scheduled to return from Albq. just a day or two before graduation). Soooo, we wound up having the party at Jenny and Spencer's. We still had a wonderful time. The game of life has a major word if you are going to make it with aplumb, FLEXIBILITY. Remember that, it will save you a lot of heartache over the years.
I know I have a lot more to catch you up on, but will close for now. Will your Mom be able to read this so I don't have to duplicate this? Or maybe I can figure out something else to do.
Well, I love and miss seeing you! Let me know how your Grandmother is
doing and how you are faring being away from home during the holiday season. You sure have been "on the move" this year, haven't you?
Glad you like the Moses-Basket Case statement and are using it. Janet thinks it is the best statement I have come up with in a while.

This is what I wrote to your Mom.
I spoke to Gary last night. Now that the busy Christmas season is "over" at the store, he said he would find the time to get the figures on the cost of sending the packages to you all. We'll see how long it takes him to get the amount. Ha! He doesn't seem to be too worried about it, so whenever he sends the amount he needs for reimbursement, I'll pass that on to you. He said some time back for me not to bug him about it, so I haven't.
I'm sorry that your Mother is having such a hard time. Makes me so sad--for all of you. How long has Seanna been down there with her? Is your Dad down there in Mexico also, or is he in Oregon? What city are they in?
I fractured a rib(s) (hard to see in the X-rays) 2 days before Thanksgiving after a fall from a chair (backwards). I keep forgetting that I'm not 18, nor a mountain goat any longer. Soooo, I've spent a lot of precious time in the recliner in the last month. It hurt to move, get up/down, cough, sneeze, hiccup, etc. What a stupid thing to have happen just before the holidays. Sure curtailed a lot of my normal activities.
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas in spite of all the negative things happening at the moment in the family. Please pass this on to Seanna, if you will. I have not had a chance to get on her blog yet. Maybe this week will be a little easier.
I didn't get any cards out either.
Are you using the kitchen hand towel I made for you?
I love you guys, miss you all, pray for you and look forward to the next time the Lord allows us to be together. I'm so grateful that He has brought you all into my life. May the Lord of Hosts and His precious Son just bless all of you, MIGHTLY, in 2006.
Love in His Name,
Maxine

Subject: Merry Christmas

Dear Maxine,

I am so sorry I have not spoken to you sooner. We have not been able to
contact many people this season. My mother has been so sick and with my
trips to Mexico, business issues etc...I have had no time to send out proper
Christmas greetings to even our own immediate family.

I wrote you- I think the other day- to give you a link to Seanna in Mexico.
In case you did not get it-

It is www.theoceanatimes.blogspot.com

There you can leave her a message (which she can get her blog better then
e-mails) and will find current updates you on how she and my mother is
doing.

Please let me know how much we owe you for the boxes and anything else.

With thankfulness & love,

Lisa Hollinger

Seanna,
I got the great postcard from Mexico. Right into my postcard collection it shall go! Sounds like you and your Mom had a great trip. Tres bien!
I am back out at Janet's again. Took Janet & Sonny to the airport again last night. They have business to take care of in Albq. Sonny has customers there he needs to get with & Janet will be helping Sonny's Mom, Nora, with some business related to Mr. Baca's death the beginning of this month. I am here at the house 'holding-down-the-fort' re: the business, the house & the menagerie. I will be out here until they return-which at this time will be Sunday. That can change (& ususally does). Ha! I have enough food cooked at home to feed Jay for about a week without him starving. Poor thing, he looks pretty undernurished, doesn't he?
Pam's Kevin broke his ankle Sunday. The are waiting until Thursday to put a cast on it-giving the ankle swelling a chance to go down. It was another bike accident.
I played Bunko with Pam's Bunko group last night. The ladies are all nice. I had a good time. The hostess had made a lot of different salads for dinner. Mmmm! Good! Next month it will take place at Pam's sister Debbie's house. I didn't do so good in playing Bunko, but I won a door prize and won a darling Easter decorated hand towel. That ws right up my alley. By the way, does your Mom use the one I made her. Oh, I think it was either a Halloween or Christmas design. Let me know. I brought over a little bit of handwork with me, but don't know how much time I will have to play with a crochet hook. Janet has satelite TV & that usually is the only time I get to watch the Food Network, Home & Garden stuff and/or DIY. So most of the time I veg out in the evenings and watch TV.
Are you home now, or back at your Grandma's?
Wow! I just keep on writing. You are probably tired of reading this nonsense I have been writing.
Send me an airmail or call or whatever. If I have Jeremy's stepmom's phone # with me, I'll call from Janet's and check on him. She has an 817 exchange phone #. It is 817.430.0010 if you want to call me. Sometimes I don't get great reception on my cell phone out here.
Lots of love to all,
Maxine
