Music Column: A Concert in Review

"While Sam Bush Concert Bombs: Darlin's Achieve Unparalleled Success!"

On Friday last, hundreds of individuals gathered round the signature white canopy of the music festival. The acclaimed Sam Bush was doing follow-up performance to "Left-Over Salmon".The concert was attended by the prominent Vawser and Hollinger Families respectively. Mrs. Hollinger, wife to the world famous Brian Hollinger of "Hardwoods Camo", declared the concert "unfit" and upon unanimous agreement from the Vawser clan, the gracious support of these two distinguished families was withdrawn, as they left accordingly half-way through the performance.

We will not say that Mr. Bush has no sense of music. However, whatever his success as a musician, it is quite obvious that he is only masquerading as a bluegrass artist. The sounds coming from that stage could not have been labeled bluegrass in good taste; it was some sort of unpleasant noise. In short, his name is much better suited to a beer can than a concert program.
The concert in question was followed later by a short performance by Seanna and the Darlin' Brothers on the lawn in the park. They had just finished their last gig on 1st street downtown and decided to stop off at Memorial Field and grace the multitude with their astonishing talents.
As to the overwhelming reaction to their exceptional skills? Well, we will let the crowd speak for themselves. Seanna and the Darlin' Brothers found their tin cup overflowing with dollars. An offering which the adoring crowd thrust upon the appreciative group between video camera takes and flashing cameras. To quote one admiring fan:

"That was much better than anything on that stage [Sam Bush] tonight! You guys should apply for a spot [give a concert] in the festival next year. You deserve it!"

A quick synopsis? This columnist suggests that Sam Bush leave the bluegrass to the Darlin' Brothers and tell his drummer to stay home!

We have footage of you all playing in Hope at the Restaurant by the lake when the sun went down.
Do you still have that Andy?

That was fun.

I am sorry-I was speaking with Andy-I see I forgot to address him.

We have footage of Seanna, Andy and Matthew playing by the lake. We all went out for dessert at a restaurant in Hope.
We took you all to that area, and I know Morgan remembers where.

We ate outside overlooking the lake and watched the sunset (very romantic for the parents:) Seanna and the Darlin's played by a votive looking lantern well into the night. We filmed it and had great fun.
