Father's Day

Well we have just finished a very pleasant week in Kansas. What a whirlwind though! My doctor pronounced that he couldn’t find any Lyme etc... or anything -PTL!- (except two fractures in my feet...a result from a recent trip to GA) and told me how proud he was that I took the steps to get well. I was pretty proud of him as well! We picnicked with his family and listened to wild tales from Yelapa, Mexico. (From whence they had just returned.)

On Father's Day we attended one of our favorite church fellowships, New Hope Baptist in Park City, Kansas. Mr. Sanger gave a very good message, surprisingly enough to the children. I have never heard of a Father's day message to the kids but strangely enough it was quite appropriate. He encouraged us from a Father's perspective what every Father desires to see in his children. Mainly to love and walk with the Lord. My good friend Tiffany Brown and I could barely get all of our news out. It was wonderful seeing my good friends the Browns and the Haydens again. It was great spending time catching up with them. A special appearance was given by the charismatic Royal Brown (One of my favorites). I will post a picture of him and I together. Look for it soon.

Afterwards we all went picnicking at the park. While Mom and Dad enjoyed some special time together underneath the shelter overlooking the lake, and Samuel played on the swing set, I went walking along the length of the small lake. A path wound around through lovely deciduous trees and I watched geese, mallards and baby ducklings playing around in the water. I found a cool spot on a bench (a respite from the humid Kansas heat) where a breeze gently blew against my face. It was wonderful just to close my eyes and enjoy some time getting back that "inner quiet" which is lost so easily now-a-days. Such a beautiful summer day underneath a pretty maple. Simple moments to savor always!
Anyway, Daddy got a portable grill, a picnic basket (which we put to good use) and some shirts. So the week is now over and it's back to home we go.
Father's Day 2005
THE END :0)

Two fractures! Oh my goodness gracious! Are you alright? I had no idea that we injured you! I'm so so sorry.

Oh my word darlin! If we'd a known we could have fixed ya up and wouldn't have drug you down the side of the mountain.
On the other I must say, that looking up to see you come flyin down and crashing into Alan, and then Andrew come a following you in similar fashion was one of the funniest things I ever saw. LOL! Sorry:(

Too bad you didn't have your camera along!

One word of advice for all present " Always have a camera with you and keep it running!"

Ohhh yeah! What a shame I didn't have it. Y'all really did look funny! It's a shame it can't be staged and shot, but those facial expressions!!! I don't think y'all could make them again even if it really did happen over. LOL!
No offense MISS Seanna:)
Ahem, miss scarlett, you didn't really seem to be all that 'thrilled' with Andrew's video of us singing in the car and workin in the kitchen. I jest might hold ya to that little bit of advice next time you tell me to turn off my camera. Ahaha!

I'm dreadfully sorry I let you get hurt, Miss Hollinger. And then making you walk the rest of the way back out? It was decidedly reprehensible of me! I pray that you will regain full use of your lower extremeties rapidly and without further discomfort. :/
Grace and Peace...

Well, first off, it wasn't your fault... I was the one who fell down the mountain after all. You must allow me some credit for being able to hurt myself.

Secondly, how else was I supposed to get out, other than to walk? It wasn't as if you were about to life flight me off the mountain or something:) LOL. Besides, I got to hang off Kressy most of the way.

Really though, I am fine. I can't do anything crazy right now but for daily multi-purpose use my "lower extremeties" are holding up nicely. Ask Andy or Matt. We saw them yesterday and I wasn't limping at all. No detectable trace. Right boys?

She looked as if she could've danced the Virgina Reel with Matthew for another 2 hours.

I love dancin! Someone else can call next time around!

"No detectable trace, right boys?" Mmmhmm Seanna. Sounds more like a threat to keep them quiet than anything else. LOL!
Oh great. I wonder who that would be Kress???? I get a round o dancin with him too. After all he's my Grandpa as well as yourn. LOL!
Appears you are in high demand Matt.

*Laughing* I can just see myself, "the queen on her throne". *Snooty English Lady Accent*
"Reign them in tighter York!"

Good heavens! Really honestly Alan, it's nothing to worry about. Stuff happens and life goes on.

Yes, girls. Ol' Dooley is a superb partner, and so energetic, not to mention quite original.

I couldn't believe how fast you picked up that dance Matt! There were a few times when I was sure you were practically having to drag me down the aisle. LOL. I was so tired and it was so fun!

Well, actually I DID have some line with me, and plenty of lumber; I should have thrown together a quick stretcher for you to sit on. You don't weigh much of anything, and Mr. Campana would gladly have assisted with your transport. 'Twould have been no trouble at all, I just didn't realize you needed it. My humble apologies...

Sea Sea I think you'll have to let this one go. It is a "Dudley Doright" thing and of course a "first borns" determination to be right. Sound familiar?:>)

Yes, you're right Alan. How could you have even thought of letting me touch a toe to the ground!? As a matter of fact, how could you have let me climb the mountain with my feet on the ground (as if I was a commoner) to begin with.

After all I am the queen! Why didn't you put your coat down. I demand to know in the name of Gwenevere where chivalry has gone these days. Really!

How insensitive! How unobservant! You deserve to be horsewhipped and strung up by your toenails. Letting a wounded lady walk. Some "Southern gentleman!" I just don't know if I will ever speak to you again! *Flounces off*

Alas Milady, thy humble servant doth pleade thy forgiveness for his gross unfaithfulness! By what manner and fortitude canst he withstand the wroth of thy redoubtable scorn? Pray tell what pennance may be inflicted upon his miserable person so as to in some way ameliorate thy contempt?

Well I was thinking more along the lines of something involving gangplanks and oranges but the queen has unfortunately had a falling out with her personal pirate, so that isn't exactly the most applicable scenario at the moment.

Therefore, in the absence of something better I suppose an immersion will do for your atonement. It will be letting you off easy, but as you say, and I flatter myself, I am copiously benevolent.

However, in view of the fact that I have been so lenient, let us hope you learned your lesson and will not repeat such atrocities again!

With the promise that your expiation will take place, I hereby pardon your undeserving conduct. I will now permit you to be once again in my good graces. Subsequently, I may talk to you...if you promise to mend your ways...maybe.

Signed,

The Queen
